Souvenir Snoopy Band-Aids

Connor had his 6 month visit to the doctor yesterday afternoon. He weighs 17 lbs. 10 oz. and is 26 inches tall. He did really well. He is quite the charmer. Doctor Johnson told him many times how he is "Such a cute little boy" as he wiggled and played as she checked him over. She said he sits up by himself really well for his age. He took a liking to her dangly stethoscope. All was good until the nurse came back to give him more shots. He got a couple in the upper part of each leg. Then he squealed. The nurse gave him two souvenir Snoopy Band-Aids. He was hungry after his shots and his long doctor visit and after a bottle of milk he was napping in his carseat. He has the official OK to start trying some baby food. Bring on the peas, beans, and sweet potatoes.

Moving Day Saturday

This past Saturday we helped Myron & Shirley (Mark's parents) move stuff to their new house. We moved the living room furniture and the kitchen table and chairs. We had the first meals in the new house. Mark and Adam moved the antenna from the old house to the new to get the TV up and running. We moved the contents from the kitchen cupboards and bathroom cabinets. Still waiting to move the bedroom furniture as the bedrooms in the new house need one more coat of paint. So those will wait for another weekend. For some reason I forgot to take a picture of the new living room all set up. That will have to come later I guess.

Cousins (John, Kari, Ali, and Connor) pose for a picture on
Grandma and Grandpa's new front porch.

Happy 6 Month Birthday Connor!

Today Connor turns 6 months old. I took his monthly picture in our big blue chair. He is such a good picture taker.

Connor's First Parade

Last night we went to the parade in Wadena. We met Myron and Shirley (Mark's parents) and his sister, Cheryl, and her two kids, Kari and John there. Connor did pretty well. I wasn't sure how he was going to take the noisy motorcycles, the sirens, and even the marching bands but he sat and watched from his chair until nearly the end of the parade when he saw Mom eating a freeze pop. Then he wanted out. I tied him in with a dishtowel. We didn't need any "first parade" remembrances of him falling out of his chair.

After the parade, we went out to the farm. Grandpa Wicklund's cows were actually up near the gate, so Connor and Mark fed the cows.

Just an Ordinary Day

Today was a perfect weather day. Connor and I and the dogs went for a stroller ride down the driveway. We also spent some time in the swing outside. Mark finished up painting our storage shed after supper. We got the shed last fall but needed to apply Thompson Water Seal to it. With all the wet and cold weather, we are finally getting to it. I did a little while Connor napped. Mark finished it up tonight. It was really starting to get sun faded already.

Connor playing with his feet. He played on the floor a little bit after I changed his diaper. He is starting to get his first tooth. One of his front teeth on the bottom is starting to come thru.

You'll have to see if this video thing will work for you. This is what it sounds like outside our house at night. Lots of frogs and other noises.
I took this last night about 10pm.
Sounds like we live in the rainforest.

Quite the Little Helpers

Well this is the start of my very own Blog. I'm still tweeking it but I want to practice with something so I can see how this is gonna work.

This past weekend we were up to Mark's parent's house north of Wadena. They built a new house and are in the process of moving (just across the driveway). Mark and his two brothers and sister sorted through their closets of stuff. Connor has all kinds of new toys. We washed all the windows in the new house and did a little cleaning of the kitchen cabinets and cupboards and all of the woodwork. Dave and Janelle's (Mark's brother and his wife)
two girls, Amanda (10) and Megan (6) were quite the babysitters.

They changed Connor's diapers, fed him, changed his clothes, pushed him in the stroller, entertained him, etc. while we got things accomplished. We even broke in Grandma and Grandpa's kitchen sink in the new house. Before it even held any dirty dishes, Connor tried it out for his bath. It passed inspection.
